24-12-2009 >>> MERRY METAL CHRISTMAS: BRUTAL HAND AND FRANKENSHRED ALBUMS OUT NOW!

This year we have a special Christmas present for all of you! We're happy to announce that the new albums of FRANKENSHRED "Cauldron Of Evil" and BRUTAL HAND "Purgatory's Rage" are finally out and available for ordering! Just head to our SHOP page - you'll find some special offers there too! Otherwise ask for our releases in the shops/mailorders in your country (see the DISTRIBUTION & SHOPS page).

From
BRUTAL HAND you can expect intense US power/progressive metal, music burning with rage and passion, played with superb skills, but now even more in your face. They've created a crushingly heavy and dark album with thundering rhythms, inspired solos and haunting melodies, enhanced by keyboards and topped with strong and expressive vocals.

FRANKENSHRED mixes traditional US metal with speed metal and a pinch of thrash. Obviously there's plenty of insane shredding, but this album is full of kickass songs, restless, aggressive and with solid hooks, killer vocals and impressive chops by each musician involved. A must for all other shredders and highly recommended for anybody who loves guitar and real metal!

Digital re-releases of the 1st and 2nd
FRANKENSHRED "instrumetal" albums: "Frankenshred" (1997) and "Evil Shred" (2000) are planned for the near future, so stay tuned for more news!

Meanwhile we've got a small taster of these albums and a gift for anybody who buys the new
FRANKENSHRED album "Cauldron Of Evil" and takes a picture of himself holding the CD... So go ahead, send those photos to this address:

Not only you'll get 2 exclusive songs before the official release date, but the pictures of you will be posted in
FRANKENSHRED and in our MySpace photo albums!

It's time to show the cover arts for our next 2 releases: FRANKENSHRED "Cauldron Of Evil" and BRUTAL HAND "Purgatory's Rage", which will be released later in December. Both artworks were painted by Jowita Kaminska.

From other news: we're happy to announce that NOMAD SON will play at the biggest and most respected Doom Metal festival: DOOM SHALL RISE (www.doomshallrise.de) in Germany. The 7th edition of this festival will take place on 9th and 10th of April 2010, as always in the Chapel in Göppingen.

09-11-2009 >>> BAD NEWS / GOOD NEWS

The bad news first. Unfortunately there won't be a new RACHEL'S COVEN album this year. The band started tracking it, however due to health problems of the vocalist/guitarist and composer, Bill McKeen, was not able to continue and record the album in time for November release date. We wish Bill speedy recovery and hope that everything will be back on track soon. For the moment we had to move the release date of "Rachel Rising" to 2010.

Due to this unfortunate event we had to quickly find a good match for
BRUTAL HAND for the November release date. It wasn't easy, but the good news is that were lucky and found a more than worthy replacement for RACHEL'S COVEN...

We'd like to officially welcome...
FRANKENSHRED! What is this band, you may ask. Well, as you could have guessed: you're in for some serious (regardless the not so serious name) fretboard gymnastics. However it's not just shredding for the sake of shredding that would surely appeal to all followers of the guitar masters like Yngwie Malmsteen, David T. Chastain or Steve Vai. Dr. Frankenshred (who has already shown his exceptional talent in bands like COMMANDMENT and ST. MADNESS) is not only an outstanding guitar player, but a great composer too, who choses to work with the best musicians around, so expect some kick-ass songs with lots of hooks on the highest level. Stylistically the fourth (but the first with vocals) album of FRANKENSHRED "Cauldron Of Evil" is traditional US metal/speed metal verging on thrash, so if you're into early ANTHRAX, SACRED REICH, MELIAH RAGE, METAL CHURCH, REVEREND, RACER X, CJSS, early DEATH ANGEL etc. and of course if you don't mind brilliant guitar playing, be sure to check it out!

FRANKENSHRED "Cauldron Of Evil" is slated to be released together with the third album of BRUTAL HAND "Purgatory's Rage", at the end of November 2009. Meanwhile feel free to check the FRANKENSHRED page to read biography and see some photos while listening to 2 songs ("Play Through The Pain" and "The Devil's Eye") from our player! Additionally, you can watch a clip of the Doctor shredding away! We have also added new BRUTAL HAND songs ("Karma" and "Metal Rules"), so be sure to check them out too!

25-10-2009 >>> SESTA MARCONI "WHERE THE DEVIL DANCES" OUT NOW!

With a little delay, but definitely worth waiting for, the debut album of SESTA MARCONI "Where The Devil Dances" is out! It had its première on Saturday October 17th at the HAMMER OF DOOM Festival (www.myspace.com/hammerofdoomfestival) in Wuerzburg, to which we went and where we had a small stand for selling our (not only doom) releases. The cover art was done this time by Italian artist, Giulio Oriente (www.myspace.com/giulioriente).

SESTA MARCONI's brand of doom metal is definitely rooted in the genre's tradition from the '70s and '80s, but marked with the band's personal vision. They call it "doom'n'roll voodoo style"... What does it mean? Heavy and doomy songs with pulverising riffs, but definitely devoid of depressive, melancholic and ultra slow elements that characterize many other doom bands - instead with a pinch of rock'n'roll and psychedelic passages. Chances are you won't sit still while listening to them, so grab your fave beverage or smoke and come, join the skeletons party!

We put 2 new SESTA MARCONI songs ("Rock And Roll Voodoo Style" and "At The Crack Of Dawn") on our player... you know what to do!

10-09-2009 >>> UPCOMING RADIO INTERVIEWS AND RADIO LINKS.

We're excited to announce that there are 2 live radio interviews coming soon! On Friday, October 2nd we'll be calling the metal guru, Bill Peters on his "METAL ON METAL" radio show at 7:30 p.m. EST (that is 1:30 a.m. on September 19th our time or 0:30 in the night GMT). "METAL ON METAL" show can be heard every Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. EST at 88.7 FM in the Cleveland area or streamed live worldwide at www.wjcu.org. This long-running, award-winning, internationally acclaimed program has been providing heavy metal on the airwaves to the metal fans of Cleveland since 1982.

And on Monday, September 21st we'll be interviewed by
Simon Lukic on his "MUSICALLY INCORRECT" radio show from Melbourne, Australia. We will call the show at 5:00 p.m. our time (that is 4:00 p.m. GMT) and in Australia it will be already 1:00 a.m. on September 22nd. You can check the broadcasting time in your time zone from the show's website: www.musicallyincorrect.com. "MUSICALLY INCORRECT" is a heavy metal radio program started in 2002 with a purpose to provide listeners with music that is currently ignored by mainstream media. Since 2004 it's presented on "Australia's largest community broadcasting station", Triple R, 102.7 FM in Melbourne. You can listen to the show streaming from RRR website: www.rrr.org.au.

It's also high time to thank to all the radio programs and DJs who have given us great support over the last few months, mostly by broadcasting our bands' music, but some of them, mentioned in the previous news (and, as we've recently learned,
DEAFNESS RADIO www.deafness-radio.de from Germany) did special shows dedicated to our label/bands. We've added a new category to our LINKS page. So now you can check all those cool radios following the links! There are 45 at the moment and of course we'll be updating them constantly.

24-08-2009 >>> DISTRIBUTION IN USA AND BENELUX.

Good news for the fans from USA and Canada: we have finally signed the distribution deal with Century Media Distro (www.cmdistro.com) for North America. Our titles have been listed on their website for some time already and should be available for purchasing any day now.

Still in July we signed another good deal with
LSP Company (www.metalzone.be) out of Belgium. We brought to them personally a box full of our releases and had the chance to see one of the 13 stores from the Metal Zone chain. It's really impressive, especially considering the small size of the country. Perhaps it's the only strictly metal chainstore in the world, but for sure perfectly organized. LSP Company made our releases available also in The Netherlands.

10-08-2009 >>> NOMAD SON "FIRST LIGHT" LP AVAILABLE AND TOUR AFTERWORD.

We're not back home yet, but the tour of NOMAD SON, which ended on July 22nd at HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR warm-up show, was a blast and we're already looking forward to experiencing it again some time in the future. The five gigs that the band played were not packed, but the people in attendance were really into their music - even if they had not known NOMAD SON before, after a song or two they were converted and many of them headbanging in unison.

07-07-2009 >>> BATTLERAGE FEATURED ON HEAVY METAL CRUSADE VOL. XVIII.

We are stoked to announce that again a song of one of our bands has been chosen for the compilation CD that comes two times per year with the premier German metal magazine, HEAVY. This time it's a song of BATTLERAGE, taken from their 2008 release "The Slaughter Returns", which already got the "Special Tip of the Month" spotlight with 11/12 rating in the March issue of the magazine.

Battlerage Tip Des Monats

HEAVY 119 (Germany), March 2008

On "Metal Crusade - Vol. XVIII", that is just out together with July/August issue of HEAVY, the 8:49 minutes long epic
"Black Riders Of Destruction" is featured together with songs of 12 other bands.

HEAVY, in spite of being one of the three biggest German metal magazines, is well known for their amazing support for the underground scene and bands that don't follow any trends. For "Metal Crusade - Vol. XVII", that was out with December/January issue of the magazine, songs of
HEATHENDOM and NOMAD SON were chosen, while on two older samplers tracks of BRUTAL HAND and RACHEL'S COVEN were featured. As a matter of fact, thanks to "Metal Crusade" we got to know and signed RACHEL'S COVEN.

Songs from "Metal Crusade" compilations are also played during the changeover breaks at BANG YOUR HEAD festival. We heard it by ourselves: on the second day of the festival right after each bands' shows,
"At The Thresholds Of Consciousness" by NOMAD SON was blasting from the speakers!

30-06-2009 >>> F.K.Ü. AND MIDNIGHT IDÖLS ALBUMS OUT NOW!

We're happy to announce that the new albums of F.K.Ü. "Where Moshers Dwell" and MIDNIGHT IDÖLS "Sworn To The Night" are now available for ordering - actually since last weekend, which we spent at BANG YOUR HEAD Festival, where we started spreading them to journalists and merchants. Some of the German mailorders (like Metalizer Records and MDD) already stock them and you can always buy them directly from us (please, check the SHOP page).

Old school thrash fanatics will not want to miss the 3rd album of the Swedish veteran moshoholics,
F.K.Ü. and all fans of ol' good traditional heavy metal, which brings back memories of NWOBHM, need to check the 3rd output of Seattle's own MIDNIGHT IDÖLS - the older they get the harder they play!

21-06-2009 >>> F.K.Ü. AND MIDNIGHT IDÖLS COVER ARTS AND RELEASE DATES.

It's time to reveal the cover arts for our 2 upcoming releases. The one for F.K.Ü. ("Where Moshers Dwell") was created by a renowned horror comic artist Jeff Zornow, who also took care of the other parts of the layout: the inlay card pictures and a killer 10-page comic that will be printed in the (16-page) booklet - you gotta see it! And the one for MIDNIGHT IDÖLS ("Sworn To The Night") was painted again by Jowita Kaminska, who also designed new logo for the band.

Both albums will be available since the German BANG YOUR HEAD festival, which we're visiting this week (June 25th-27th). Meanwhile you can check the new promo photos of the bands on F.K.Ü. page and MIDNIGHT IDÖLS page.

30-04-2009 >>> PROG AND POWER US METAL FORCES.

The time has come to finally announce the last 2 bands for our 2009 releases. Both represent the same genre, US Power with some Progressive Metal influences, however have their own identities. We are really excited to have discovered these two hidden treasures and very happy to be working with them now.

The first one of them,
RACHEL'S COVEN comes from upper West Virginia and has one album under the belt. Their sophomore full-length "Rachel Rising" is slated for the November release date. If some of your favourite bands include: QUEENSRYCHE, JAG PANZER, SEVENTH OMEN, IRON MAIDEN, FIFTH ANGEL, VICIOUS RUMORS, ARMORED SAINT, then RACHEL'S COVEN may soon join this list! Their experience, passion and outstanding talent shines through their music: beautiful guitar harmonies, soaring leads, strong and powerful vocals and intriguing song structures with variety of tempos and moods.

Rachel's Coven

RACHEL'S COVEN

The second band,
BRUTAL HAND hails from Denver, Colorado and is now hammering out the songs for their 3rd opus, "Purgatory's Rage", that is going to be released together with the CD of RACHEL'S COVEN. Their brand of US power/prog metal should appeal to the fans of SAVATAGE, DREAM THEATER, QUEENSRYCHE, METAL CHURCH, BLACK SABBATH (Tony Martin era), early VENI DOMINE... Their superb technical skills are unquestionable, but without a feeling they wouldn't mean much. BRUTAL HAND'S music is thick and intense, with strong and expressive vocals, inspired solos, thundering rhythms and haunting melodies, enhanced by keyboards creating dark and heavy atmosphere.

BRUTAL HAND

As always, you can learn more about our bands from RACHEL'S COVEN page and BRUTAL HAND page. The new songs are not recorded yet, but we decided to put in our player 2 tunes from their last albums ("Rachel's Coven" and "Unchain The World", both from 2006), so that you can have a better idea about their music and a small pretaste of the things to come!

18-04-2009 >>> BLOOD, FIRE, STEEL... AND DOOOM!

It is one of our our main goals to offer the versatility of traditional metal styles, maintaining the highest quality of each. That's why we were on the hunt for a representative of one of our favourite sub-genres, doom metal. Having listened to dozens of newer bands, we almost lost hope, as most of them just bore us to tears. We didn't have to search far away though, as the revelation came from the country in which we live and which has quite a tradition of doomy music, Italy.

It's time to introduce the new hopefuls to the Doom Metal Olympus,
SESTA MARCONI. Even though they've been brewing their "doom'n'roll voodoo style" since nearly a decade, they've released only one demo and one EP, so their name is not well known yet. Fans of BLACK SABBATH, CATHEDRAL, TROUBLE, SHEAVY, PENTAGRAM, THE OBSESSED, ORANGE GOBLIN and CANDLEMASS should not hesitate though and grab their self-released EP, while waiting for the full-length debut, "Where The Devil Dances", due in September! We were not able to resist their spells concealed in the form of diverse, catchy and heavy traditional doom metal tunes, interlaced with a pinch of rock'n'roll and psychedelic passages. We can never just sit or stand still while listening to their music... Hope they will do the same to you! Check the SESTA MARCONI page to learn more about these wicked doomsters.

So what is "Blood Fire Steel" then? Well, it's the title of the long awaited new studio album of the Chilean metal warriors from BATTLERAGE. They don't need much introduction here, as last year we released "The Slaughter Returns", so you might have already seen the BATTLERAGE page (but check it again, it's been updated with new photos and info!). Their line-up has changed recently: Rodrigo de la Hoz is no longer in the band - Tomás Kittsteiner is their new bassist.

In 2006 BATTLERAGE recorded what was to be their sophomore album, but sadly, due to the problems with their former label, that material has never seen the light of day. In fall 2008 the band entered the studio to record those songs again. Their 2nd album will be finally out in September 2009. Expect nothing less than Metal in the purest form, played with no compromises!

We added "LSWD", a song of SESTA MARCONI (from "Ritual Kamasutra Kitsch" EP), as well as a rough mix of a BATTLERAGE song, "The Blind Dead" (from their forthcoming album) to our player for your listening pleasure.

10-04-2009 >>> METAL STRIKES AGAIN FROM SEATTLE!

Long time no news doesn't mean there hasn't been news... There must be something about bands from Seattle. In this place we wanted to state that we are not choosing bands by the city they come from, however now a third Seattle's group joined our roster. All are playing different styles and, of course, none of them grunge (hope that goes without saying)!

Well, it's time to welcome
MIDNIGHT IDÖLS! Don't be mislead by their name... fear not, we are not leaving metal! They may have some rock'n'roll influences (or: attitude), but the Metal Inquisition's verdict was clear and firm: METAL. Actually with very strong NWOBHM influences, strong to the point that you may be even tricked to think it's an original band from that period and country, just with updated quality production. If you love Paul Di'Anno era MAIDEN, PRIEST, RAVEN, SAXON, TANK, GRIM REAPER, as well as the US metal giants like W.A.S.P. and TWISTED SISTER, be sure to check out the Idols! And you can start from the MIDNIGHT IDÖLS page.

The band has just entered the studio to record their 3rd album,
"Sworn To The Night". It's going to be released together with the CD of F.K.Ü., in June. Be prepared for some hard-rocking, ass-kicking, fist-pumping metal played with guts and balls!

For the moment you can listen to
"Bloodied And Alone" (taken from the band's 2008 demo) from our player. It will be available in two weeks on our compilation CD, "Compendium Of Metal Vol. 2", while on the album you will hear a different version of it!

13-03-2009 (it's Friday!) >>> HORROR AND METAL UNITES.

It's high time to start introducing the great bands whose new albums we'll release this year. It took us a bit longer than we had planned, as there have been some last-minute changes in the release schedule, but now we can finally say that the plan is finalized and it looks really exciting. 6 brand new albums, as well as one re-issue and one vinyl edition of the last year's albums. So, let's start with the first ones...

We are thrilled to announce the signing of the veteran Swedish moshoholics,
F.K.Ü., notorious for their old school thrash with a twist: those guys are real horror freaks (with special affinity to the Freddy Krueger flicks) and have their own way to let you know about it. You're up for some good laughs listening to the lyrics of the Horror Metal Moshing Machine (as they also call themselves) and you're very likely to get up and start moshing around impulsively to their catchy brand of thrash, especially if you're a fan of old EXODUS, OVERKILL, D.R.I., S.O.D. ANTHRAX, HIRAX, NUCLEAR ASSAULT or TANKARD... You can read more about them and check some photos on the F.K.Ü. page here. It will also lead you to their website and MySpace.

The band is currently finishing the recording of their 3rd full-length album entitled
"Where Moshers Dwell" and we're shooting for the mid June release date. Get ready for some good friendly violent fun!

Meanwhile listen to
"Twitch Of The Thrash Nerve" from our player. This song is taken from the 7'' vinyl released by the band last year and will be available at the end of April on our compilation CD, "Compendium Of Metal Vol. 2", together with other 16 killer tracks. And it will be re-recorded for the upcoming album!

06-02-2009 >>> HEATHENDOM "NESCIENCE" IN THE 2008 CHARTS.

HEATHENDOM's debut album "Nescience" has reached 20th position (just after Warrel Dane's solo album and overtaking Hail Of Bullets, Firewind, Motley Crue, Cynic, Satyricon and several other bands) in the 2008 albums charts of the editors of Metal Hammer & Heavy Metal magazine (Greece)!

In the following issue (February) of this biggest metal magazine in Greece the readers' poll was published: HEATHENDOM had been voted the 5th best Greek band for 2008.

We are very happy about these signs of appreciation in the band's country and are doing our best to make their name known in other countries too. "Nescience" is almost sold out now, but we are planning a re-print of this album, with a special surprise.

HEATHENDOM will play a show supporting AMON AMARTH on Saturday, February 14th, in "Fuzz Club", Athens.
